A 5-year-old girl who was riding a scooter was killed after she was struck by a pickup truck in West Palm Beach.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said it happened on South Military Trail on Sunday evening.
Investigators say the driver of the pickup truck was traveling in a development approaching a curve.
There was a parked truck and trailer blocking the road. Investigators note the child fell from the scooter and into the road as the pickup truck approached.
The driver hit the child, killing her. No charges have been filed against the driver of the truck.
