73-year-old motorcyclist killed after slamming into vehicle on US-301

A 73-year-old motorcyclist is dead after Florida Highway Patrol said he slammed into the back of another vehicle on US-301 on Sunday afternoon.

At 1:15 p.m., the Brooksville man was traveling northbound on US-301 on an Indian Scout motorcycle, following behind a 56-year-old Dade City woman in a Cadillac Escalade.

Approaching the 21000 block of US-301, the driver of the Escalade stopped to yield to oncoming traffic.

Troopers said the motorcyclist did not slow down or stop and ended up colliding with the back of the woman’s car.

The man died at the scene of the crash. The woman was not hurt.
