An 8-year-old Cape Coral girl called 911 after she said her father was drinking and driving on Sunday.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, around 11:08 p.m. officers received a call from a girl saying she was in her dad’s car and he had been drinking.
CCPD arrived near the intersection of SW 19th Avenue and SW 32 Street, where they found Albert Coronado, 36, sleeping.
Police say the car was running and the child was crying in the backseat.
When Coronado woke up, he told police he had been drinking and the child called 911.
He was arrested and charged with one count of driving under the influence and one count of driving under the influence with a minor in the vehicle.
