One person injured in propane explosion at Hernando County camper

One person was injured on Sunday after a propane explosion at a camper in Spring Hill.

According to the Hernando County Fire Rescue, just before 5 p.m., units responded to a structure fire in the 6100 block of Piedmont Drive in Spring Hill.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find smoke coming from a pull behind camper located on the property.

HCFR determined that the fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival.

Responders also found a victim suffering from burn injuries. Paramedics began immediate treatment and the victim was taken to a nearby burn center in stable condition.

HCFR said that initial reports indicated a propane explosion as the cause of the fire.
