Crews battled a fire on Thursday morning after a food truck was engulfed in flames in Bonita Springs.

Crews with Bonita Fire and Rescue responded to 3371 Bonita Beach Road SW at 5:04 a.m. for reports of a fire.

NBC2 was on the scene where they spoke to the owners of the food truck that belonged to Between the Bunz.

“I’m a little heartbroken. That truck has been good to us for the last two years…a little over two years. We’ve been servicing the community all around,” owner of Between The Bunz Tamara Trovato said.

Tamara and her husband say their food truck is the way they support their family.

“This won’t hold me back. This is just going to make me bigger and stronger,” Tamara added.

Investigators say the truck was dropped off between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Officials are not positive about how the fire began at this time.

Bonita fire was on the scene where they say a propane tank took time to cool because the safety valve was leaking, so it was a dangerous situation.

Firefighters applied water and foam to the propane tank to aid with the cooling process.

The state fire marshal is on the scene to continue investigations.
