Cape Coral middle school teacher accused of sending naked photo to student in court Thursday

A Cape Coral teacher is in court Thursday after he was arrested for reportedly sending a picture of his genitalia to a student.

Joseph Michael Reynolds was a teacher at Diplomat Middle School, according to Cape Coral Police.

The department’s Special Victim’s Unit was informed by Diplomat Middle School’s Resource Officer regarding a possible inappropriate relationship between Reynolds and one of his students. It was revealed that Reynolds provided his phone number to the student and began a texting communication chain.

Reynolds is facing charges of transmission of material that is harmful to a minor. Reynolds was released from jail on April 10 on a $25,000 bond, according to arrest reports.

Reynolds is set to appear in court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
