A car erupted in flames Thursday morning on the southbound exit of Florida’s Turnpike near the border of Miami Gardens and Miramar.
Sky 10 was above the scene near Miami Gardens Drive just before 7 a.m. as heavy flames were coming from the vehicle as firefighters were dousing it with water.
The car fire was on the shoulder of the roadway. Traffic was blocked off in the area.
According to a spokesperson for the Miramar Fire Department, they received a call just before 7 a.m. about a vehicle fire on the Turnpike southbound exit towards the westward Turnpike extension.
The spokesperson said the fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
