Car with body of woman and cat found inside Franklin County waters

The victim was identified as 77-year-old Judy Cooper.

An investigation is underway after a reported body in a car was found in the waters at a Franklin County boat ramp.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the car had run off the ramp at Timber Island Boat Ramp in Carrabelle between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday.

The woman at the wheel was found to be from Georgia. We are told she reportedly drowned in the car, along with her cat.

Authorities called the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to assist with the crime scene.
