Officials say the structure was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived around 9:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to control the fire within 30 minutes, according to fire rescue, with no injuries reported. A 36-year-old Homosassa man died after being hit by a truck on Saturday night, according to officials. The Florida Highway Patrol says a Dodge Ram being driven by a 75-year-old Lecanto man was headed east on CR-490, approaching South Lantana Way, just before 12 a.m. Authorities say the Homosassa man was walking a Lectric bike across the highway when he entered the path of the truck. Two people were killed after their vehicle crashed into a tree and a brick wall early Saturday morning in Orange County, according to Ocoee Police. Investigators said the crash occurred around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Ocoee Apopka Road and Summershade Drive, near Forest Brooke Estates. The crash occurred around 1:43 p.m. in the area of mile marker 161, near Sebastian, troopers said. According to a preliminary FHP crash report, the crash involved a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu and a 2021 Toyota Corolla. Identification is pending for one occupant of the Toyota who was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Tri-Rail train late Thursday night in Pompano Beach. A 71-year-old Florida woman was arrested on allegations of shooting and killing a man because “he did not clean up after himself,” police said. Patricia Whitehead was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting, which happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Ybor Heights. According to Tampa police, officers responded to the shooting and found a man suffering from “upper body trauma.” The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, police said.
