St. Pete police searching for driver responsible for fatal crash

Police are asking for the community’s help in locating the driver responsible for a crash that killed a man earlier this month. St. Pete police are trying to find 26-year-old Herbert Jones, the driver involved in a high-speed crash at the intersection of 22nd Avenue South and 13th Street South on July 14. Florida mom accused of DUI, neglect after leaving child behind in crashed car, police say

A young mother is behind bars after police say she was driving drunk when she crashed her car with her child in the backseat. Authorities report that she did not attempt to rescue her child from the wrecked vehicle. Josefina Lopez, 21, is facing charges after Clermont Police allege she was intoxicated when she crashed her car with her child on board. 14-year-old boy shot in St. Pete, police say

A 14-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon in St. Petersburg, according to police. The teen was near 20th Avenue South and 44th Street South when another group fired several shots, police said. The teen went to a nearby house for help. He was taken to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in critical but stable condition, police said. No other details were immediately available.
