Deputies are investigating after a man was shot and killed in an Orange County neighborhood. Dixie County woman sentenced to 2 years in prison on child abuse and drug charges

The daughter of a candidate for sheriff of Dixie County has been sentenced to spend two years in prison on child abuse and drug charges. Deputies arrested Sara Ridgeway, 43, more than a year ago after they say they found her passed out in her car from using heroin. A young child was also in the car. A person died after a shooting on Wednesday night in Pompano Beach. The fatal shooting was at about 7:15 p.m., along Northwest Sixth Street, between Northwest 27 and 24 Avenues.
