A Seminole County deputy was taken to a hospital early Wednesday after a driver crashed into a sheriff’s cruiser in an I-4 construction zone in Sanford, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Former MLB shortstop charged with insurance fraud, accused of staging car crash in Florida.

Former big-league shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt, who appeared in parts of nine MLB seasons, is facing up to 10 years in prison if he’s convicted following an arrest last week in Miami-Dade County on several charges.
