 A man in his late-40s died Tuesday night after he lost control of an ATV he was riding and crashed into a tree on Jacksonville’s Westside, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office told First Coast News. JSO’s Sergeant Hungerford says the crash happened at approximately 7:55 p.m. in the 7200 block of Commonwealth Avenue. Hungerford says the man was riding the ATV eastbound along the southside of the roadway on the grass shoulder, and lost control when he “drove down into a small culvert.”

A 2-year-old boy has died in a drowning Tuesday at a home in Margate, authorities said. Margate Police confirmed officers responded to a home on Northwest 79th Avenue for a child drowning. First responders gave the child CPR and transported him to Broward Health in Coral Springs, where he was pronounced dead. The child’s identity wasn’t released. What led up to the drowning is unclear.
