FWC: Woman killed Sunday in boating accident at Lake Iamonia in Leon County

Photo by: wctv A 27-year-old woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a boating accident, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The fatal boating accident happened at about 5 p.m. at Lake Iamonia in Leon County, north of the capital city, FWC investigator and public information officer Travis Basford said. The wreck involved two vessels, one of which was an airboat, he said. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical responders assisted FWC at the scene.

Tampa woman accused of pretending to be a teenager, molesting young boys denied bond.

 The 22-year-old woman accused of pretending to be a 14-year-old girl in order to sexually assault teen boys will remain in jail while she awaits her trial. Two men killed in multi-vehicle crash in West Park identified

The two men who were killed in a multi-car crash in West Park on Saturday afternoon have been identified as Juan Perez and Jose Perez Domingo. Woman sentenced in double DUI crash that killed incoming UCF freshman, father.

Leslie Gehret was sentenced to over 23 years in prison on Monday after she drunkenly killed an incoming UCF freshman and his father on their way to orientation last year.  The 40-year-old woman entered a plea on Monday for two counts of DUI manslaughter, according to State Attorney Andrew Bain. Putnam County sergeant recovering after explosive device exposes officer to powdery substance.

Traffic stops are part of the job for law enforcement, but the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said they’re one of the most dangerous things to do. “This could’ve been a whole lot worse, it could have easily blown his hand off, damaged his face,” Colonel Joseph Wells said. Miami-Dade County Public Schools employee facing multiple child molestation charges.

A Bob Graham Education Center staff member has been arrested, accused of inappropriate behavior towards a minor. Martin Zaretsky has been charged with seven counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child between 12 and 17 years old.
