According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, officers responded to the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 69th Street just before 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports about a person being shot in the area. Rodriguez said officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Local 10 photojournalist Lani Yasuk-Carrier was told at the scene that the victim had been shot in the chest.

One person was critically injured in a rollover crash Thursday in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened around 4:55 p.m. on Landstar Boulevard and E. Town Center Boulevard. According to troopers, a 17-year-old Kissimmee girl traveling in a Volkswagen Beetle attempted a left turn and went into the path of a Toyota Corolla. Photo by: clickorlando  A huge fire erupted Thursday night at an RV park in Orange County. Firefighters responded to Lake Breeze RV Park, across Lee Road from Trotters Park. Video from the scene shows what appears to be a trailer engulfed in flames, some of which can be seen shooting out of a propane tank. Crews were reportedly able to put out the flames within a few minutes but at this point, there haven’t been any reports of potential injuries

Two people are dead after two different crashes in North Central Florida, at least one the result of wet roads. Troopers say a 20-year-old driver from Lake City was traveling on I-10 just east of the I-75 interchange around 6 o’clock this evening. They say the driver lost control due to rainy conditions and poor tires on his car, sending him over a culvert and flipping over the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Photo by: FHP On Thursday Florida Highway Patrol announced they arrested a 19 year old motorcyclist from Cape Coral following an investigation into a crash from June. FHP’s Traffic Homicide Division said Alexander Isbel Cruz was arrested on a felony warrant for Vehicular Homicide. In the crash, FHP determined that Cruz’s motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed. It was going between 96 to106 mph traveling south on Interstate 75, south of mile marker 138 in Lee County.

A man is dead after a SWAT standoff shut down traffic on Rockridge Road near U.S. Highway 98, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd shared in a press conference Wednesday. The suspect, Thomas England, 40, had 16 previous criminal charges related to armed burglary, domestic violence, drug possession and other felonies, according to Judd. “This guy is a problem,” Judd said during Wednesday’s conference.  The standoff began around 2:30 a.m. after England went to his next store neighbor to borrow a light

A man accused of deliberately driving his car toward another man, striking and killing him in Daytona Beach, was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder and will face up to life in prison when he is sentenced. Anthony Adum, 42, was charged with first-degree murder, but the jury returned a guilty verdict on the lesser charge, which is punishable by up to life in prison as opposed to the mandatory life sentence for first-degree murder. A girl was hospitalized with a hurt arm and shoulder after she was hit by a pickup truck in Polk County Thursday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. Broward County deputies investigated a double shooting in Deerfield Beach late Thursday afternoon. The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. in the 100 block of Southwest Third Street, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The two victims, identified as males, were taken to area hospitals.
