A man was arrested on Tuesday evening following a stabbing that left a person injured in DeLand. Joseph Varela, 30, was arrested by the DeLand Police Department shortly after the incident. Responders say the incident occurred at 6:29 p.m. when Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to a motor vehicle crash requiring extrication at the intersection of N. Old Corry Field Road and Lillian Highway.
