MDSO: Deputy hurt while responding to fatal crash near Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport

Photo: WPLG A deputy was hurt while responding to a fatal fiery crash late Friday in northwest Miami-Dade near Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, authorities confirmed Saturday. The initial crash occurred around 11:55 p.m. near Northwest 135th Street and Northwest 57th Avenue, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said a vehicle struck a tree and caught fire. They said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews extinguished the flames and pronounced the male driver, who has not been identified, dead at the scene.
