A driver was killed, and an elderly passenger was seriously injured, after their SUV struck a fallen tree on a roadway in Marion County early Tuesday morning. The fatal crash occurred on County Road 318 at around 2:25 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol. A man was arrested after pulling a gun on an Escambia County motel security guard, according to an arrest report. Gabriel Roberro, 42, is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. The incident happened on Sept. 24 at the Relax Inn on Mobile Highway. According to the arrest report, the security guard said Roberro was first asked to leave the property on Sept. 23 by the owner. A man died on Tuesday morning after he was hit by an SUV and an off-duty police officer while attempting to walk across the Arlington Expressway, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
