A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on State Road 9B at E Town Parkway Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP, the 23-year-old motorcyclist from St. Marys was traveling southbound on SR 9B behind an SUV. Troopers said the man riding the motorcycle crashed into the back of the SUV. Deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office found themselves in a highly unusual pursuit when a man led them on what they have called “possibly the slowest chase in FCSO history” — crawling along U.S. 1 at just 3 mph. PBCFR says the fire occurred in Wellington on Meadowbreeze Drive at around 12 p.m. Firefighters say they saw a large cloud of smoke even before arriving. Upon arrival, crews learned the fire began in the garage and spread throughout the attic space. PBCFR says it took one hour to bring the fire under control. No people or pets were injured as a result of the fire.

A man was hospitalized and a suspect was being sought after a shooting at an apartment complex in Miramar early Thursday, police said. The shooting was reported around 7 a.m. in the 11300 block of Southwest 30th Court, according to Miramar Police. A Florida woman has been jailed after allegedly firing a shot through an apartment, nearly hitting a sleeping woman earlier this week. Jennifer Ong faces charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, according to an affidavit.
