Pedestrian fatally struck by Brightline train in Deerfield Beach

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Brightline train in Deerfield Beach, authorities said. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the crash near the 1500 block of South Dixie Highway, along the FEC railroad tracks, at around 4 p.m., Wednesday. Sarasota County neighborhood still suffering with flood water, wondering when help will come

A box truck driver who crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 75 in Marion County before his vehicle rolled over, was arrested for driving under the influence after he allegedly fled the scene of the crash by foot. Escambia County takes over Wedgewood Community Center after mass shooting

The Wedgewood Community Center in Escambia County has remained closed since a mass shooting there on July 28. Two people were killed and five others were injured near a pavilion outside the center. A man was arrested after deputies say he stole approximately $800 worth of Lego sets from a Target in North Naples. A Fort Myers man was arrested after allegedly speeding past cops at more than 110 miles per hour in a stolen car before attempting to hide in apartments on Saturday.
