Fort Myers police arrested Jamaine Washington, 43, on Tuesday for charges of vehicular homicide, driving with license suspended and providing false statement to law enforcement.  A man in his 30s was found fatally shot on Tuesday evening in Orange County. Deputies responded to The Park at Milano Apartment Homes off of W. At 1 a.m. Tuesday, between 23rd and 24th streets, police said a woman was rollerblading when a man brazenly grabbed her from behind, unprovoked, and sexually battered her. A driver was arrested after crashing into cars and leading deputies on a pursuit through Miami-Dade and Broward counties on Tuesday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities said they were trying to serve an arrest warrant on a man when he “began to flee from authorities,” at one point hitting two vehicles. Two people were killed in a head-on crash on State Road 60 Tuesday afternoon. It happened near River Ranch Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A Chevy Silverado was traveling westbound on SR-60 near the Lake Kissimmee south boat ramp when it crossed the center lanes and hit a Honda CRV head-on. A third vehicle then hit the CRV, FHP said.  Three Crestview women were arrested last Friday after Okaloosa County deputies and Panhandle Animal Welfare Society rescued dozens of neglected animals from a home last month. These woman are each charged with 14 counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 14 counts of animal cruelty: Alaqua depends on donations for all of its operations.  A Florida reporter witnessed an officer-involved shooting Tuesday at around noon, according to NBC station WESH. WESH reporter Tony Atkins said he was getting off of I-4 in Orlando when he saw heavy police presence at a gas station in the area of Michigan Street and Westmoreland Drive. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that it arrested the sister of the man accused of injuring a deputy during a traffic stop earlier this month. The sheriff’s office said detectives learned that 29-year-old Briana Jeffries aided her brother, William Lewis, Jr., after he struck Deputy Kalin Hall with his vehicle and fled on July 5, 2024. The Florida Department of Transportation says a semitrailer crashed on I-75 southbound Tuesday morning, causing major traffic backups in Collier County. Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 3:40 a.m. at mile marker 90. The semitrailer was hauling rooftop shingles that spilled onto the highway after the crash.
