Vero Beach man dies in crash on County Road 510 near Sebastian

A Vero Beach man died after his pickup truck struck what highway officials said was a roll-off garbage truck Monday afternoon. The crash occurred on County Road 510, or 90th Avenue, just outside southwest Sebastian city limits at 2:20 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The 77-year-old driver of the white 2002 Ford Ranger died at the scene of the crash, which was the road just east of the entrance to Sebastian River High School. FHP did not identify him.
