An 11-year-old Alabama girl and a 31-year-old Pensacola woman were seriously injured in a crash Thursday morning in Santa Rosa County. It happened around 9:55 a.m. on I-10 west at mile marker 39. The crash involved only one vehicle — a pickup truck. The 31-year-old woman was driving, while the 11-year-old Florala, Alabama girl and 45-year-old Florala, Alabama woman were the passengers. FHP states it was notified for a possible ejection. Life Flight helicopters were called to assist in transports.

A 19-year-old man died in a car crash on South Lecanto Highway in Citrus County early Friday morning. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the victim, who is from New York, was driving a Nissan Altima on South Lecanto Highway north of West Black Circle around 4 a.m. The car then went off the road and hit a concrete power pole. Officials said the man was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries in the crash.

A man was arrested after reportedly firing a gun inside a home along SW 47th Street in Cape Coral during a Fourth of July celebration. Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to the home, where there was a large crowd of people outside drinking and lighting fireworks. A 21-year-old Hastings woman and an infant were killed Thursday night when their van was hit head-on by an SUV that was trying to pass another vehicle on State Road 19, a two-lane highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A man is in custody for stabbing a teenager at an Orlando home Friday morning, police said. Devon Osby, 42, was taken to jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Police said the stabbing happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Bleasdale Avenue. A man on a scooter was hospitalized on Thursday after he was hit by a car in St. Petersburg, according to police. The crash happened in the area of Dr. King Street South and 14th Avenue South, police said. The man is expected to be OK. The Tampa Police Department said it arrested two men after a shooting injured a security guard and three men at an adult entertainment club early Friday.
