Swimming pool company co-owner set to be sentenced for multi-million-dollar fraud

The co-owner of a swimming pool company on the Treasure Coast who was convicted of defrauding customers out of millions is expected to be sentenced Tuesday. Chrystal Washburn was found guilty last month on all 14 counts of fraud against her. The charges include one count of being guilty of an organized scheme to defraud, fraudulent use of personal identification, money laundering, and omitting or concealing information to avoid workers’ compensation premium. Panama City man struck by vehicle on County Road 2315

Around 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, a 61-year-old man was hit by a truck in Bay County. The vehicle was traveling in the northbound lane of Star Avenue when it hit the pedestrian also walking along the northbound lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol. A motorcyclist was killed in the early hours of Monday morning. Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the motorcyclist, a 50-year-old Mary Esther man, was riding on Highway 98 near Brookwood Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. They said a truck, being driven by a 60-year-old Pensacola man, was driving along near the motorcycle. Deputies save couple from dog attack in Volusia County

A Volusia County couple is recovering after deputies had to rescue them from what law enforcement called a vicious dog attack. They say it was the second time the dog had attacked in a week — just six weeks after the couple adopted it. The dog was ultimately shot and killed by deputies.
