A pedestrian-involved crash caused lane closures of a busy road in Inlet Beach, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. WCSO deputies were reportedly on scene of the crash around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Reports said one vehicle and a pedestrian were involved. Authorities said all westbound lanes of Highway 98 were shut down near Orange Street in Inlet Beach. Pedestrian killed in crash in Bay County

A 61-year-old man is dead after being hit by a truck in Panama City. According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 10:40 p.m. Sunday, a pickup truck was traveling in the northbound lane of County Road 2315 when they hit a pedestrian also traveling north. The pedestrian was thrown from the force of the impact, colliding into the mailbox of a home on Star Ave. He succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital.

House fire in Seagrove Beach

Early Monday morning, South Walton Firefighters responded to a house fire in Seagrove Beach. Around 1:17 a.m. a 911 caller reported that they could see a home on fire on the other side of Eastern Lake. Fire officials arrived on scene to flames engulfing the single-story home. After confirming all residents of the house had exited, firefighters worked to put out the flames. The home did suffer heavy damage, but no injuries have been reported.
