Bicyclist hit by car in Fort Myers on Veronica Shoemaker Blvd.

Police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard that appears to be fatal. Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard lanes have reopened, and the scene has cleared. Before the scene cleared, Fort Myers Police and community volunteer units were blocking Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard southbound Friday. The crash happened by Trailhead Park, just before noon. There did appear to be a body in the road, however, police have yet to confirm that this is a fatal crash.

A Collier County man has been convicted of molesting a child following a three-day trial. According to the state attorney, 49-year-old Matthew Edward Zink was convicted of two counts of molestation on Wednesday evening.
