Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an early Sunday shooting. According to Fort Lauderdale Police, they received a shot-spotter alert regarding a possible shooting on Boward Boulevard near South Federal Highway at around 4 a.m.  When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting at the scene but did not find any victims.  Soon after, two men arrived at Broward Health Medical Center with injuries that were consistent from a shooting. One person died Sunday morning after a home in Deerfield Beach caught on fire. According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, units arrived at the home in the area of Northeast 50th Court at around 2 a.m. Once at the scene, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the home and a search for anybody inside started. A man was shot by deputies during an intense encounter Sunday afternoon in Oakland Park. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, just before 6 p.m., deputies responded to a call about a suspicious man in the area of East Oakland Park Boulevard and Northeast 6th Avenue. An officer is being treated for an injury he sustained while chasing a suspect on Saturday evening. According to the Clearwater Police Department, the officer was chasing the fleeing suspect in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and La Salle Street. A woman was stabbed during an argument with her boyfriend overnight Saturday in Escambia County.
