Two women suffered critical injuries Wednesday morning when they were fired at by an unknown shooter while driving through Springfield, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO, which did not issue an alert about the shooting at the time, said officers responded at 6:18 a.m. to West 16th Street, west of North Main Street, because of a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found three women: one in her 50s, one in her 30s and one in her 20s, injured.

A Naples man was arrested on Monday after being accused of drunk driving at 10:30 a.m. and threatening to kill a deputy. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was alerted to a reckless driver in the area of Airport Road and Pine Ridge Road Monday morning. Firefighters said the fire started just before 6 p.m. Tuesday near County Road 15B and State Road 710, west of Indiantown. A mother and her son were taken to the hospital after they were attacked by a stranger in Fort Lauderdale, police said. According to Fort Lauderdale Police, at around 7:30 a.m., the mother and her 12-year-old son were walking in the 1000 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue when an unknown person hit them with a blunt object. Police said that the 12-year-old had an abrasion to his face, and his mother had a laceration to the back of her head.
