2 women driving through Springfield critically injured when shots were fired at car

Two women suffered critical injuries Wednesday morning when they were fired at by an unknown shooter while driving through Springfield, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO, which did not issue an alert about the shooting at the time, said officers responded at 6:18 a.m. to West 16th Street, west of North Main Street, because of a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found three women: one in her 50s, one in her 30s and one in her 20s, injured.
