A man who was shot by police during an armed confrontation in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood Wednesday morning has died, officials said. The incident happened around 10:45 a.m. in the area of Southwest 25th Avenue and 22nd Avenue, just south of Broward Boulevard. Fort Lauderdale Police officials said officers responded to a call for service involving a male having a mental health crisis, and received information that the male had a gun and was in a home with other people.
