The U.S. Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg rescued a person in a disabled 40-foot boat on Sunday.

Crews say they responded to the disabled boat 20 miles off the coast of Sanibel Island after the person’s locator beacon alerted the watchstanders.

“The operator had a personal locator beacon, and it helped us find him really easily,” BM2 Neschich said.

No injuries were reported.
