One person died Tuesday night in a crash involving a pickup truck and a car on Jacksonville’s Northside, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to the FHP report, a pickup truck was headed north on North Main Street in the inside lane, approaching Sara Drive, when it T-boned the driver side of a car that was stopped in the inside lane on Main Street.
Troopers said the car had either been attempting to make a U-Turn on Main Street at the intersection of Sara Drive or had been hit by another car earlier that left the scene.
The impact from the truck spun the stopped car into the concrete median, and the 43-year-old driver of the car died from his injuries.
The 68-year-old pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries.
Troopers said it’s unknown if the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
FHP said that if the car was involved in a hit-and-run, it’s possible the vehicle that left the scene was a white Nissan Altima with Florida license plate number AR01DM.
Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to contact FHP at 904-695-4000.
