A deadly crash near Boynton Beach, which took two lives, including a 10-year-old, and left a 2-year-old in the hospital, has claimed another life, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO).
The PBSO crash report stated that Dawn Howard was driving her 2020 Lexus RX350 at a high speed on South Military Trail on July 10 as she approached the intersection on Miner Road.
Officials reported that Howard, 54, accelerated to beat a yellow light, then collided with a Volkswagen carrying four people, including two children.
The crash reportedly caused Howard’s vehicle to roll over before coming to a rest on the grass and dirt.
The deadly crash prompted a response from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR), who pronounced Grechy Almaguer-Perez, 43, dead at the scene. The 10-year-old was pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center.
The two-year-old who was traveling in the Volkswagen was transferred to Delray Beach Medical Center with a broken right tibia.
In an update from PBSO, their public information officer stated the 46-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen, who was not expected to survive, passed away just before 5 p.m. on Friday.
