Deputies: Escambia County woman shot by stray bullet inside her home

A woman was shot by a stray bullet inside her home on Sunday morning in Yoakuma Court, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they received the call for a shooting victim at around 4:30 a.m.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the woman had been shot in the cheek.

The woman was able to speak to deputies and told them she woke up to two men arguing outside of her home, according to ECSO.

Deputies said the woman looked out the door to see what was going on and saw the men arguing in her driveway.

She told deputies she heard gunshots and immediately felt pain in her face, according to the ECSO.

The woman was taken to a Pensacola hospital.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was called to the scene.

Deputies located narcotics and shell casings on the road outside of the home.

Deputies are continuing to search for the suspects.
