Bradenton police rescued a dog from a hot vehicle on Monday, the department wrote on Facebook.
The Bradenton Police Department said officers responded to reports of the dog locked in a vehicle that was not running with windows cracked less than an inch.
The dog appeared to be distressed and her owner could not be located, so police smashed the window to prevent the dog from suffering serious harm.
It was reportedly 90 degrees outside when the dog was rescued.
Officers gave the pup water and put her in the back of an air-conditioned patrol car while awaiting Animal Services.
The investigation is ongoing.
