Engine ripped from car in violent crash that killed 1, hurt 2 others, Florida cops say

A tragic accident unfolded outside Lakeland, leading to the loss of one man’s life and injuries to two others. On October 26, Thomas Holloway, a 49-year-old, was driving his Kia Soul on Ewell Road when, for unknown reasons, he drifted out of his lane. This unintentional lane departure led to a harrowing chain of events.

Holloway’s Kia crossed the center line and sideswiped a Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by a 53-year-old man. Subsequently, a Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 26-year-old woman, was also involved in the collision. The impact between Holloway’s Kia and the Hyundai was so severe that it caused the Kia’s engine to become completely detached.

Tragically, when emergency responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that Holloway had lost his life in the accident. The other drivers involved were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for their undisclosed injuries. Notably, all three drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, authorities do not anticipate filing charges. Holloway’s untimely passing deeply affected those who knew him, as he had served as a nursing school tutor at Polk State College. His kindness and helpful nature left a lasting impact on the students he mentored.

Holloway, a resident of Plant City, located approximately 25 miles east of Tampa, is mourned by his family, friends, and those he touched through his teaching. In challenging times like these, Team Ovadia Law Group can provide support and legal assistance to those affected by similar incidents.
