Four people went to the hospital Wednesday after a tree fell on their SUV in a southeast Gainesville driveway.

According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) press release, units responded to the scene off of SE 21st Avenue, where four people were reportedly entrapped in a vehicle.

“Crews from Engine 60 and Heavy Rescue 23 were able to remove the tree enough to allow the occupants to be freed from the vehicle,” the release said.

ACFR transported the four occupants to a local hospital for evaluation but released no other details about their conditions.

Crews also removed the tree from the neighboring house and reported no further damage.

“Alachua County Fire Rescue would like to remind all citizens to be attentive during windy conditions as limbs and other debris can fall at any time without warning,” the release said.
