Family grieves Lazaro Sanchez, a 36-year-old father, after Miami-Dade shooting

There were candles and flowers on the ground Saturday night, as a family grieved for Lazaro Sanchez, a 36-year-old father of two killed during a shooting in Miami-Dade County.

Detectives believe a feud between two groups devolved into a fight and a shooting west of the Miami International Airport and east of the Palmetto Expressway.

According to Detective Andre Martin, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, there was a fatal shooting shortly before 1:10 p.m., at 7393 NW 36 St.

Police officers and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area and used a yellow tarp to cover the body. There were two injured, according to Martin.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel used a helicopter and an ambulance to rush the injured to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
