FHP: 18-year-old killed, toddler among 2 injured in Marion County crash

An 18-year-old woman was killed, and two others are suffering injuries after a crash in Marion County on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred on County Road 484 and SW 95th Circle around 4:42 p.m.

A sedan was traveling southbound on SW 95th Circle in the right turn lane. At the same time, a truck driver was traveling westbound on County Road 484, according to the FHP.

Troopers said once the sedan driver entered the intersection, the front of the truck collided with the left side of the sedan. Both vehicles came to rest on the south shoulder of County Road 484.

The driver of the sedan is a 20-year-old woman who suffered critical injuries.

There were two passengers in the vehicle, which were identified as an 18-year-old woman who was pronounced dead and a 2-year-old toddler who was in serious condition, according to the FHP.

The driver of the sedan and the 18-year-old passenger were not wearing seatbelts, according to the FHP report.

The pickup truck driver identified as a 43-year-old man, and the two passengers in the vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

According to the FHP, the 43-year-old driver and one of the pickup’s passengers were not wearing seatbelts.
