FHP: Jacksonville man dies in crash on First Coast Expressway entrance ramp

The crash happened around 1:48 p.m. Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Jacksonville man is dead after a crash on a First Coast Expressway entrance ramp Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP crash report states around 1:48 p.m., a Mack truck was traveling west on New World Avenue approaching the First Coast Expressway southbound entrance ramp when the driver lost control.

The 38-year-old Jacksonville man driving was making a left turn onto the ramp when the truck overturned, the report said.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.

According to FHP, the man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
