FHP: Vehicle strikes, kills man in parking lot while overturning off U.S. 1

A pedestrian was struck and killed after a crash on U.S. 1 Sunday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP crash report states around 5:50 p.m., a tan Chevrolet SUV was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 near North Kings Road at the time of the crash.

For an unknown reason, the 27-year-old man driving the vehicle veered off the roadway and started overturning into the right shoulder.

A parked red Subaru and a 32-year-old man in a nearby parking lot were struck in the process. 

The man died as a result of the crash, according to FHP.

The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
