Firefighter injured, two displaced in Aqua Porta Apartments fire in Escambia County

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital with injuries and two people were displaced after Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Aqua Porta Apartments on Saturday.

The fire took place around 9 a.m. at the 12000 block of Airblanc Drive. Smoke and flames were visible upon, arrival according to the Escambia Fire Rescue.

The fire was out by 10:01 a.m., but two apartments were impacted.

The State Fire Marshal was notified, but a cause has not been determined yet.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to those displaced.
