Flooding leaves San Carlos Park yards and streets submerged

San Carlos Park flooded after receiving several inches of rain on Thursday. The majority of the neighborhood is covered in a few feet of water.

Several people were seen swimming, riding bicycles and ATVs down flooded streets.

Lee County Fire and EMS said they responded to several calls about flooded homes.

When Keisly Estevez got home from work, she found the first floor of her home covered in 3 inches of water.

“I mean, we went through [Hurricane] Ian here, and it didn’t like, the water didn’t even come up to our door. Nothing happened to us,” Estevez said.

She said the rainwater destroyed her clothing, furniture and a refrigerator.

“We’re basically just taking all of the water out and drying everything up, just trying to mop everything and clean, and throw everything away that’s been ruined,” Estevez said.
