Fort Pierce man arrested in Jupiter attack that broke victim’s eye sockets

A Fort Pierce man was arrested over the weekend after a fight that left the victim with two broken eye sockets.

J A G was booked for battery, robbery, larceny, burglary, and trespassing following the attack on his girlfriend’s neighbor.

The Jupiter Police Department (JPD) explained officers received a call Saturday afternoon from a woman who said she just broke up with her boyfriend, saying he was drinking, high on cocaine, and beating up another man.

She further advised that she could see that her neighbor’s face was ‘smashed.’ Statements from the caller indicated G accused her of cheating with her next-door neighbor for five months.

G did not leave her apartment on Military Trail near Jupiter Medical Center and was allegedly pushing and grabbing her when she attempted to open the door and tell him to leave. The probable cause affidavit stated he also snatched her iPhone from her hand and refused to give it back.

At some point during the argument, G stepped outside of her apartment for a cigarette, where he spotted the neighbor, leading to an argument. After telling the neighbor that he didn’t trust him, G followed him into his apartment where he began punching him in the face, according to the JPD report.

During the altercation, police say, G attempted to pick up a brick to hit the neighbor with it, however, he was unsuccessful. A different neighbor who gave police a witness statement said that the victim ‘appeared defenseless.’

The caller told investigators she left her room where she saw G on top of the neighbor who was on his back, punching him repeatedly.

She ran into her apartment and locked her doors where she noticed when G left to smoke a cigarette that he had left her phone inside, which she then used to dial 911.

When officers arrived, they found the caller waving her hands and crying on the side of the road. Officers say she directed them towards G, where they apprehended him.

The victim was later taken to the hospital, where it was found that he had multiple fractures to his orbital bone and had to be trauma alerted to St. Mary’s Medical.
