The Tampa Police Department said it arrested two men after a shooting injured a security guard and three men at an adult entertainment club early Friday.
Tampa officers said the incident began with a fight between two suspects, 26-year-old Ryan Moss, and 27-year-old Kelvin Duran, and a security guard. Police said the fight spilled out of the Pink Pussycat Lounge on North Nebraska Avenue and into the parking lot.
TPD shared 911 calls from the incident.
“Did you see who was shooting?” the dispatcher asked. “It was customers fighting. I’m not too sure. Its still a little bit chaotic,” the caller said.
In one of the calls you hear a woman screaming “police, please, police please.”
“I don’t know who was shot. I’m still trying to figure everything out. I just heard a bunch of gunfire, like 10 shots.” This caller told the dispatcher there was fight at the end of the night and they were kicking everyone out. “How long was that, the fight, before shots were fired?” the dispatcher asked. “Not long at all,” the caller said.
Officers said Duran and Moss drove their vehicles toward the club entrance and stopped in front of the business door.
Investigators said Moss, who was in the front passenger seat of the car, fired a 9mm handgun from the car window, striking the security guard in the abdomen.
The security guard returned fire, striking the car, and causing it to collide with another parked car.
Dispatchers tried to get descriptions of the suspects from the callers.
“I don’t know. We’re in the bathroom hiding. They were shooting,” one caller said.
Tampa police officers said they arrived at the club quickly and apprehended Moss and Duran. Three other men, all in their early 30s, were injured by gunfire and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to hospitals for medical attention.
The security guard underwent emergency surgery at a hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.
Moss was charged with attempted first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Duran was charged with principal to attempted first-degree murder and principal to aggravated battery with great bodily harm or a deadly weapon.
