The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed one of its officers was hit by a car while walking in Jacksonville’s Brentwood neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
JSO said the officer and the driver involved were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There was a heavy police presence at 22nd Street and Pearl Street for hours following the crash.
The Traffic Homicide Unit responded and is investigating the incident.
