Levy County sheriff’s deputies are investigating what they are calling a domestic violence-related shooting on Tuesday evening.

Investigators say the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in the Manatee Farms Subdivision off of Manatee Springs Road, west of Chiefland.

Witnesses reported that a pair of brothers were involved in an altercation before one brother shot the other.

The dispute ended with the death of J M, 50.

Investigators said they found the suspect, M M, 33, hiding in a shed on the property.

After a brief standoff, Miller gave himself up to law enforcement.

M is now being held in the Levy County Detention Center.
