Man accused of having ‘sexual relationship’ with girl since she was 12

A Hollywood man was arrested Monday after authorities say he has had a “sexual relationship” with a minor since she was 12 years old.

Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez, 23, faces four counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor.

According to his arrest report, the victim told police that she was involved in an “ongoing sexual relationship” with Gonzalez-Gonzalez, which was “consensual.”

Police said the victim claimed that she and Gonzalez-Gonzalez had engaged in sexual intercourse at least five times, including on Monday in the parking lot of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

While that location falls within the jurisdiction of the Seminole Police Department, Hollywood police said the victim claimed that the two also had sex in the city of Hollywood several times during the past year.

According to the arrest report, Gonzalez-Gonzalez was interviewed by detectives and identified the victim as his “girlfriend,” and said they have been dating since July 2023.

Police said Gonzalez-Gonzalez believed he had sex with the victim less than 20 times and confessed to knowing her age.

According to the report, Gonzalez-Gonzalez told detectives that he and the victim decided to keep their relationship a secret because her family had seen them together at family gatherings and told the victim that they did not approve of him because Gonzalez-Gonzalez was too old for her.

Police said Gonzalez-Gonzalez consented to providing saliva samples, which were turned over to the Seminole Police Department.

As of Tuesday, Gonzalez-Gonzalez remained at the Broward County Main Jail.
