A man was attacked with a machete around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald’s on 15th Street. Despite the severity of the incident, no fatal bodily harm was reported.
The Panama City Police Department informed News Channel 7 that the altercation involved two friends who were arguing. Rather than pressing charges, the men agreed to go their separate ways.
Officers on the scene noted that it is unusual for an incident like this to end without charges being filed. However, they clarified that this case does not fall under the category where they are required to advise the victim to press charges, a recommendation typically reserved for domestic violence situations.
The investigation into the incident remains open, but no further action is expected unless new information arises.
