A man in his late 20’s died when he fell off a container ship at the Jacksonville Port Authority Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
The man was not from Jacksonville and did not work at Jaxport. The vessel is based out of Norway.
The man “took a wrong turn” inside the ship and fell, police said. He was found by a coworker shortly after.
The Coast Guard responded to assist JSO in the investigation.
The man’s body will be taken for an autopsy.
