Motorcycle-ATV crash in Union County leaves man dead, teen injured

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers said a man is dead and a teenager is seriously injured after a late-night crash in Union County on Saturday.

Troopers said the victim was a 53-year-old man from Lake City who was riding a motorcycle.

Both victims were driving westbound on County Road 18 in Union County near Southwest 78th Place when the man’s motorcycle hit the other victim’s ATV from behind.

Both vehicles rested blocking the roadway, according to FHP officials.

The man was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics.

The other victim was a 17-year-old boy from Lake Butler.

He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
